Tehran: Tension between America and Iran is increasing day by day. Preparations for the second round of talks are going on in Pakistan, but Tehran's tough reactions have further heated up the atmosphere. Iran has made it clear that it will not sit at the negotiating table under any pressure or threat.

Has Iran already given strong signals before talks?

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that in the current situation it is not easy to talk directly with America. He stressed that dialogue is possible only when there is an atmosphere of equality and respect. Ghalibaf said in clear words that Iran is not a country that comes under pressure. He also termed the US Navy blockade as a 'clumsy and stupid move'.

Has Trump been accused of pressure politics?

Taking aim at Donald Trump, Ghalibaf said that America either wants surrender from Iran or is looking for an excuse to escalate the conflict. According to him, instead of making talks a means of compromise, they are being used as a weapon of pressure. He warned that if America does not remove its blockade, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will be tightened.

Did the first meeting further weaken trust?

The first round of talks held in Pakistan remained inconclusive. After that both the countries accused each other of breaking the ceasefire. Iran says that in such an environment it has become difficult to move forward with confidence. In the first round, Iran had described the American proposals as 'exaggerated' and 'impractical'.

Did Trump's warning make the situation worse?

Trump recently said that if the talks do not yield any results, the situation could become serious. He talked about making a 'very reasonable' offer to Iran but also warned that if an agreement is not reached, military action could be taken again. After this statement from Tehran, the reaction has become more strict.

Are questions being raised about America's intentions?

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said that American actions and statements are creating doubt instead of building trust. He alleged that repeated ceasefire violations and provocative statements were weakening the dialogue process. Aragchi stressed that no agreement is possible without trust.
